Nintendo’s big reveal of their newest addition to the Legend Of Zelda franchise really surprised critics.

The new game is called Legend Of Zelda Breath Of The Wilds.

On the surface, Zelda veterans will have no trouble getting into Breath of the Wild, with its real-time combat largely unchanged. Link hacks at enemies with melee weapons, while holding down the attack button charges his signature spin attack. There are changes however – Link’s arsenal largely consists of whatever he can find, be it branches to wood-axes.

Defeat enemies though, and you can take their weapons for your own, although all weapons will deteriorate and eventually break. This gives each combat encounter a deeper edge, never knowing if you’ll have the tools to take foes on or need to make a hasty retreat, while finding a much more powerful weapon delivers a genuine thrill.

The presentation and demos of the game at E3 won multiple awards among critics.
